Spotlight Photography
What bulb is good for photography?
So, I am needing a bulb to put behind a white sheet. I can’t afford vellum or an outdoor spotlight right now, so I am hanging a white sheet and wish to use a normal lamp behind it. I know I need a very strong bulb, so could someone tell me what type of bulb is best and which strength?
I am going to be taking photographs of water being poured into a glass with a high shutter speed. darkness around it apart from where the light will be, if you understand what I mean.

For what you seem to be doing, you will need about a 500 watt bulb. You can use a simple contractors light for that.
You will not need to use any special gel over the light or on the front of your lens. You can just set the cameras white balance to incandescent and your image colour will be pretty close
