Photography Light Meter
In photography, how does the light meter works?
Professional photographers use metering device near their subjects before shooting. I don’t know how it is related to shutter and aperture settings.
It basically meters the light FALLING on the subject instead of REFLECTING off the subject.
From the that metering, F-stop and or Shutter stop can be calculated (by the meter).
One thing the photographer has to SET is the ISO.

And that info is TRANSFERRED (copied) to the camera by hand.
So let’s say the meter reads F5.6 + 1/60 of sec. Now the camera is set to the same exact setting (in manual mode) and you have EXACT exposure. You don’t have to worry that the subject is dark color or light color (as that will wrongly affect the IN-CAMERA meter reading.
